Meet Niall - Our New Consultant in The Marketing Team!
We're delighted to welcome Niall, who has joined us this week as the newest member of our Marketing Recruitment Team!
Niall's interest in recruitment stems from his background in sports... Having grown up within the UK football system, he's had the privilege of meeting people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. This experience not only deepened his appreciation for diversity but also sparked his passion for understanding what motivates people and helping them reach their potential.
Before beginning his journey in recruitment, Niall played football for Birmingham City FC and also spent time playing in Florida, where he further developed his teamwork, resilience, and drive... all qualities that translate perfectly into the fast-paced world of FMCG recruitment!
When Niall isn't recruiting in the week, or playing football at the weekend, you will find him spending time with his nearest and dearest, whether that be out for a Sunday morning hike, or partying on a night out!
We are so excited to have Niall on the team, bringing his energy, focus and drive... we're not so excited he supports Stoke City... but you can't have it all!
Welcome to the team Niall!
Read on to find out which popular film Niall was shocked by!
Tell us about a time you were star-struck?
I remember when I was about 14 years old and I was taking my trip from the Man City training ground back to my home, when the driver told me we would also be dropping Phil Foden off on the way home. He would have only been about 18/19 at the time, but he was already making a name for himself, and I was definitely star-struck at the time!
What's one thing you did recently that you're proud of?
I would say starting my new hobby of kickboxing, which has been something that I have always been interested in; however, I never really got the chance due to my other commitments. It can be a daunting scenario walking into a completely new gym, but I am proud of myself, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the training since starting, and it is now part of my regular routine.
What motivates you to come to work each day?
I would say having a positive impact on people. I find recruitment truly rewarding, especially when you have a significant positive impact on an individual and you genuinely help them find what they are looking for. It makes all of the tough days worth it.
Can you recommend a book/film/podcast?
My film recommendation would be Shutter Island. It is relatively well-known, but I remember the first time I watched it, and I was shocked! ( In a good way)- It’s also one of those films you can re–watch and not get bored with.
What's your secret talent that not many people know about?
I am somewhat ‘good’ at Chess. I wouldn’t call it a talent, and I am definitely no expert, but I think this is something that surprises people slightly.
What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
A new pair of shoes. I try to spend my money a bit more responsibly nowadays…
If you could get a new skill in 10 minutes, what would it be?
Be able to speak another language. I have no specific preference regarding which language, but it’s something that I have always wished I could do, but I have never pursued it.
